Jade Thomas is a Psychology Graduate and Psychological Counsellor in training at the Private Therapy Clinic. Over the years, Jade has gained valuable experience working as a Psychology Assistant and in a Primary School setting supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) including; Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) & Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) as well as working closely with Safeguarding and looked after children.
Jade has also worked with adult clients with a range of Psychological disorders such as; depression & low mood, anxiety & panic disorders and relationship issues.
In addition to this, Jade coordinated and delivered Emotional Literacy CBT Interventions for children with Behavioural difficulties, with an aim to help them recognise their emotions, become more self- aware and motivated within school.Jade brings a friendly and welcoming attitude to her therapeutic approaches, as well as making sessions fun and engaging for children.
Jade uses Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) techniques to re- evaluate unhelpful thinking patterns. Our thoughts can affect our emotions and behaviours, Jade can help you to identify these thoughts and help to break negative patterns and introduce positive thoughts and behaviours.
Education and Skills
Jade graduated from the University of Northampton with a high 2:1 in BSc Psychology. She will be pursuing the Psychology Doctorate training in 2020 to become a HCPC registered Psychologist.
Jade has also completed NHS Children and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) Training and Low Mood CBT Training, this training added to Jade’s initial knowledge and advised on the best ways to support children and young people with PTSD and Low Mood.
Jade has completed her Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) Training with Child Autism UK. Which is used for clients with Autism or Young Children, it aims to help improve their ability, reduce challenging behaviours and anxiety. She will also be supporting our Senior Child Psychologist in Dyslexia and psychometric assessments.
